Find an Approved Trainer
Why use a Safe Towing Scheme Approved Trainer/Centre?
All training providers and trainers approved by the Safe Towing Scheme have been through a robust approvals process to gain our accreditation (which requires them to meet key criteria concerning trainer qualifications and experience, quality of training facilities and vehicles, have the appropriate policies and insurance in place etc) and have additionally undertaken a train the trainer programme.
Additionally, all Approved Trainers and Centres are monitored and quality assured by our scheme which is in turn monitored by the National Council for Accredited Trailer Training.
Sadly this is not the case for all B+E training offered in the market, as surprisingly there is no mandatory requirement for a B+E trainer to have a training licence nor have any specific driver or towing training qualifications, and very few accredited schemes of this nature exist for trailer training.
Training with a Safe Towing Scheme Approved Centre means your trainer has been accredited, your training programme is accredited and your certification is accredited and recognised by leading driver education and road safety bodies, as well as the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency, the government agency responsible for driver and driver training standards.
